IGotYa - Snaps pic of your iphone thief.

Infinifolders is what is causing icon arangment glitch... The dev said he fix that asap...

I test all of chpwns tweaks with this later
 
After about 20 emails to the dev (why replied kindly and quickly), I have come to understand the complexity of this app, and it has it's weaknesses just as any.. But if u choose to try this out, use http://iLocalis.com/repo/ 's version. Not the beta!!

(edit) seems they fixed lockscreen voice control whole

Negatives:

- currently "secure mode" is not compatable with infinifolders, and it will rearrange ur icons if u choose to ever leave secure mode.

- It saves passcode in plain text prefernce file

- if u have a smart theif, he will a) restore it, or b) bypass lockpad without guessing by using voice control call exploit

What? I can restore any iPhone in DFU mode, as long as I can turn it off, I can DFU it! Some kid gave me $30 just to restore a locked iPhone... Took me 10min...

If what u meant is "what good is the secure mode.." then I would have to say... If I guessed two passwords, and the second one works, and I don't see any pop up, then I could assume i don't need to restore it, giving the owner much more time... I take all that back, that's what "most" people may do... I would restore it without guessing any passcodes and go strait to DFU if I knew it was hot ;)

I feel stupid on 2 levels... First, I wasn't sure what "stand up guy" meant... Googled it... Second, now im almost positive (yet unsure) that he is/was being sarcastic! ;)
Didn't sleep last night, after got home at 2am, I have class at 8am, might as well stay away and tweet/post/debug...

I did all these posts from iPhone and been emailing dev of this app all night from iPhone! Computer in other room where I'm sleeping!!

NICE! this app is worthless.. i just bought it tried it out.. erased my whole phone.. erased my apps, contacts etc..anybody know a fix for this i really dont feel like restoring i still see my apps under settings..

Lol, u turned on "secure mode" and entered wrong passcode, u r in "secure mode", which is what makes u appear to have no apps/contacts...

Oh ya, and u could not have purchased it... Because it doesn't prompt for purchase until the trial ends..

U should not tell people things without reading through it's settings and features

Oh ya, to get out of secure mode u lock screen, then type in your correct passcode, it will respring and enter normal mode... Ur apps will be out of place if u r using any infini or gridlock tweaks

What about Folder Enhancer? Does this affect that?
 
Hi I have the same problem i downloaded and installed the app and it worked great sent me an email every time i entered in the code wrong but when i tried to turn on secure mode it got rid of all my apps and personal data I tried entering in my code again but it didn't work i had to restart in safe mode just to see my apps then i uninstalled IGotYa and now almost none of my apps work and all my personal data is gone please help
 
Ok, i got it to work once with trial while in secure mode. Emailed me my picture and GPS. Messed up folders (I use folder enhancer) and I put everything back.

I then purchased the program with paypal. No confirmation from the dev but the pop up stopped coming up so I figured everything was good. I took out of secure mode (to avoid having to replace/restore icons) and it does not work at all.

Anyone have any ideas??
 
Ok - it did end up working but took about 15 minutes. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it works quicker now. I do not have secure mode on so no message popped up but I did get my picture and GPS (within about 1 block).

Quick question - why would you set it on secure mode? Why would you want to allow someone access past the lockscreen even if it does "hide" all of your info?

I hope the dev updates to allow you to send a message (or have it automatically popup) when not in secure mode.

Otherwise, a little rough around the edges but for $5 (actually $7 after $ conversion fees) not a bad app! Hope the dev keep supporting it. Apple should have definately implemented something like this.

I've been trying this out. After testing it and entering secure mode then exiting secure mode, all of my iPod tracks are gone (besides one I used in an iMovie).

I checked iFile and the files are still there and playable from iFile, but iPod.app will not recognize them.

Anyone have any suggestions short of a restore? I already uninstalled iGotYa and rebooted.
 
Igotya lost my setting, apps,movies and contacts

I need a little help.I downloaded and tried it.It works the first time. Tested it again this time try to put wrong password twice and then put the right password.Ipad2 works but setting tab, apps,movies and contact disappeared.I set it up, password for Igotya was more than 4 character and different password for the Ipad.Is this Bad? How I can get out of the secured mode.I assumed the settings are hidden somewhere? Anything I can do before restoring it to original setup? I really appreciate some extended hands.....:confused:
 
My friend installed this app on my phone a couple of weeks ago and it locked me out. It doesn't play nice with other apps/addons that you might have, from my experience. I have a lockinfo and a bunch of other lockscreen addons.

When you're returning from safe mode, it takes FOREVER. That's where it got stuck for me. I had to hard reset it and removed it soon after. Never again. Did it work? Sort of, it snapped a few pics of my friend fiddling with my phone. :rolleyes:

Hold the power button and the home button for 15 seconds and it should reboot. If it doesn't reboot, it should turn off. Then you can just power up.
 
i could not get outta safe mode. I DO NOT SUGGEST ANYONE TRY THIS APP OUT.

i know it sounds so cool, hence why i tried it. but it really screwed me up, had to redo everything again after restore!
