iPod touch Ihome IH9: Is static an issue?

I just ordered an ihome ih9 from Amazon, but I'm afraid that I might have to return it. I keep reading about "static" problems with the ih9, specifically when using a 2nd generation ipod touch. Can anyone give me any feedback regarding this?
