Resolved iiyama ProLite TF2234MC-B1 22" IPS LED Touchscreen - horizontal scan line issue

Suddenly some very strange behaviour on one of my monitors (PLT2234 Display - iiyama ProLite TF2234MC-B1 22" IPS LED Touchscreen Monitor). It looks like that at the left side (half of the monitor) the icons are missing horizontal line in-between.

See the combined screen of photo's I took with my iPhone:

Also I see more white horizontal pixel lines in-between on the left side that are not on the right side of this monitor. Drivers, GPU or monitor? Rebooted couple of times...

Not sure if this solves the problem. You can try to remove the video cards, and put them back in. Or maybe a loose cable problem.

My first guess would have been cable, second guess would be VRam ... but swapping the monitors would have the problem staying with the video channel that is defective. Since the problem follows the monitor, it has to be the monitor. :) Possibly bad matrix decoding or internal connector issues?

I am going to say it has to be the monitor, very weird though. Please keep us posted on what this turns out to be.
 
DELL U3014 with similar issues

Did some Googling and found a forum entry on the DELL support forums with the same issue: DELL U3014. Shame the last post was entered on May 10th 2013. Posted a request for further info's for possible cause and if this issue was ever resolved by DELL. Keep you posted.

Same problem with my Philips 238C4QHSN.

It looks like an "image persistence" on LCD panels.

Panel type: AH-IPS.

I guess you can observe burned-in image on pixels by viewing black image fullscreen.

Only even(odd) lines are affected, on the left side.

Thanks for your feedback. Testing with some solid colours and here's the result for solid white. For what I can make of that, it's EOL! :rolleyes:

I bought this DELL LCDisplay when it came to market. returned it after a few days because of this issue. it looked to me like some sort of interlace scan-lines. drove me crazy :mad: after finding that others had the same issue I decided to return the screen. I guess there's (or was?) something wrong with the panel itself or the electronics driving the panel. bought an EIZO and I'm happy since (apart from the fact that the EIZO is only 27" and I wanted 30"). can't have it all...

Thanks for your detailed reply Micheal. Good that you're able to return the DELL. EIZO is indeed a great brand. I'm awaiting the support ticket - perhaps RMA - from Iiyama or the Vendor.

interesting: my DELL U3014 also only showed the issue on the (lower) left half of the screen. maybe there's a pattern?

Investigating if the panels have the same make and model for the DELL and Iiyama. I hope DELL will answer my question about this issue.

problem with the main board

Got an email from Iiyama Tech. It seems there's a problem with the main board and I'm offered a repair/swap. I choose the second option. Thanks for reading and posting! Cheers
 
With great disappointment I have to re-open this thread. My current monitor - PLT2234 Display - iiyama ProLite TF2234MC-B1 22" IPS LED Touchscreen Monitor - is showing the same defects again:

1. Extreem ghosting ONLY on the left side of the monitor:

2. Horizontal scan lines scrolling from the bottom to the top, again ONLY on the left side:


Received yet another RMA# Keep you updated!
