I had an early iPhone running on FW 1.0.2 and hesitated ever since to upgrade to the flavor of the day. With 'The Virginizer' from i.unlock.no (http://iphone.unlock.no/#already-unlocked-virginize) and the new ijailbreak 0.5.3 out I finally gave it a shot ... and was not disappointed. Everything worked exactly as advertised. 1. Follow the instructions given in the link above (i.unlock.no): revirginize (baseband fix) 2. Plug iPhone into iTunes, when asked to update to the newest firmware (1.1.3), do so. Then close iTunes 3. Download iJailbreak 0.5.3 (notice: this version only works for Leopard on a PPC -> NO Intel, but with any iPhone: old/new, boot loader 3.9/4.6, ...), connect iPhone to cable, run iJailbreak, and YOU'RE DONE!! The entire process takes (including the installation of the new firmware) 40 minutes and no more than 5 clicks.
