I'm dissapointed with iKlear as well. I got a free sample at Macworld, and used it for the first time last night. Even after buffing for quite some time, there were streaks left on the screen of my PB. That said, I was very impressed with the job it did cleaning the case of my PB. I guess I'll just stick with a damp cloth.

It seems iKlear works very well on everything EXCEPT lcd screens. I still keep my bottle handy because it's good for other stuff like cleaning the aluminum PB case, pro mouse, flat screen TVs, even CDs and DVDs.

Someone once suggested on this forum to use a sunglass cleaning kit from your local shopping mall sunglass store. I went to Sunglass Hut and picked one up. The employee there told me it contained no alcohol (as it would damage lenses). I gave it a shot and it got rid of the streaks and had the screen looking brand new from the factory. The liquid doesn't stay on the screen - it evaporates almost instantly, thus preventing streaks. No idea what will happen in the long run, but I love it so far.

I have a bunch of iKlear packets, and wanted to know if they left streaks on the outside of anybody's TiBook. I've used them on the screen, and they're not horrible, no streaks, but not entirely clean either.

I think iKlear is great. Used it to clean LCDs, CRTs, keyboards, cases, etc., and I've never had a problem with it. I mean, sure, it streaks for a bit, but an extra 10 seconds of buffing and the screen is great. However, I might be willing to try something else.

Ok, perhaps I am too close to the forest to see all the tree's.

I believe Opti-Max is the best. Bar None... And I will back that up.

I will honor above sample price. For first 100 new customers.

All I ask, is that you post your honest opinions... Pro or Con.

No matter what.. If for any reason, your an un happy camper, I will refund your $2.98

I have little to loose.... after all, I have had no refunds in 4 years.

Test me!

I took him up on his offer.

I will post the results when I get it. My iBook is too new to need it but I have a Toshiba laptop with a horrendously dirty screen from the last user at work.

Sh*t, I would never ask for 3 bucks refund. Your offer was made in good faith I believe.

It seems many are unhappy with iKlear, I am going to set-up a online petition against the company for refunds for all who have been duped by this over prices product.

From your post it appears that the imprints made by the keyboard can be removed from the screen with this product?

i use a small silky type cloth that i bought for my eyeglases to clean the screen every now and then. this dry cloth has done the trick for me everrytime, gets all the smudges and never leaves a mark.

cool beans.

i think i got the cloth at sams club for a couple bucks.

Wel I was planning on ordering me some iKlear tomorrow until I read this... *sigh*... anything else anybody can recommend? I'm nervous about putting much of anything on my laptop screen (except my fingers apparently... :) )

opti-max

I would try opti-max. You can order on-line at www.opti-max.net

I believe its the best cleaner on the market today.

I personally have used it for over 4 years.

I liked it so well, I bought the company.

Does it help with the imprints brought on by the keyboard?

That's enough advertising, thank you.

I would think these imprints are small scuffs, or tiny scratches causes by vibration against the keyboard buttons.

As Opti-Max is a cleaner only, and not a polisher, it would not help.

To help prevent futher damage, I would recommend two Opti-Max Wipes be laid down on top of the keys before closing cover.

OMG, iKlear actually works WONDERFULLY if the screen is cool! Try this and you will see that it works ( I made the mistake of doing it on a hot screen too )

I use

iKlear

on my

iMac

iPod

iBook

&
PDA.

Absolutely NO problems. I love this stuff,.

Windex

Windex contains parifin, and its blue.

Parifin is a wax. So its more of a polisher, than a true cleaner.

If it really cleans, where's the blue go?

The first time I used iKlear I thought the exact same thing. Then i thought about removing wax from cars: use al ight, quick, circular buffing motion. I also make sure that I refold the dry wipe a couple of times so that I'm always wiping with a clean part of the wipe. No streaks at all. Give it a try.

A cleaner that works

You will be glad to hear that a better product does exist for cleaning laptops, TFT and Plasma screens. Go to www.cleansafe.net.au. The LCD division of Philips, Xerox and may others use CleanSafe.

Give it a try..................................

I forgot about this thread until it got bumped yesterday. I received my Optimax cleaner and cloths 2 weeks ago. Pretty pleased wih the results. Did a great job on a Toshiba laptop I have from work that some previous user took lousy care of. Haven't needed it on my new iBook, it's still pristine.

I say it definately worht taking him up on his 3 dollar sample offer.

yup i klear sucks,,, it did take the key imprints off the screen, but if you have to rub the screen so much you might as well just do it with some of them eyeglass shamies...
not worth $25.00
bad purchase.

iKlear works miracles on everything i have, case/LCD/whatever it may be. I'm surprised to hear all these complaints, since my only complaint is that its a little expensive to be using all the time (problem solved by using a damp cloth when it gets dirty).
And yeah that hot/cold LCD thing makes a difference too.
