Hey guys, figured I'll give the Ikonic Edge Super Slim it's own thread. This New Zealand company recently started shipping out orders for their leather pouch.

It is a very snug fit, actually takes a bit of effort to get the phone back out but that will loosen with time when the leather gets accustomed to the phone. Or the phone gets accustomed to the leather. *Shrug*

The top of the phone rests comfortably inside the pouch and does not protrude out. The leather feels amazing and gives off that beautiful leather smell too. It came with a white pouch as well. On opening it I initially thought "Oh no wrong colour". The actual black leather pouch I ordered was inside.

Good to know ... I ordered one last night .. I wonder how long it will take to ship to Florida ?

Don't know bout the US as I'm in Australia. Order was dispatched on Thursday and came this Monday morn. Might have been faster if not for the weekend.

thanks. worth the hefty price tag? I used a Sena Ultraslim with my 3gs until it started to looks very worn and not very nice only after a few weeks. do you think this will retain its looks?

cheers

I was initially after the Sena Ultraslim as well till some posters on these forums reported that they wear out after a year. Some had gone with ikonic for their 3GS and mentioned it still retained it's look after a year. Made up my mind right there.

Thanks for this. I've been using their 3G w/card pocket for some time now. It will stretch over time - I used mine with very thin back cover (something like the Feather) and it worked great.

I've been using it with my i4 since launch with a bumper. Unfortunately I got mine before the lengthened the 3g version by 3mm (per their website). As such, and due to the added length of the i4 w/bumper, it sticks out the end by nearly 1/4". Otherwise it works great. I had to stretch it by soaking it in warm water and letting it dry around the phone (which was wrapped in Ziploc bags).

I sent the iKonic them an email a couple months ago asking if they were going to make an version for the 4 + bumper. They replied saying that they do plan a bummer version. I'll prob ping them again as that's the version I'm holding out for.

Hey- Per my last post, I've had mine for over a year now. It still looks great. I've been using it as my primary wallet every day since I got it- so it definitely has been used.

btw- mine is brown.

Thanks for all the comments. Sounds like a quality product.

Can you post some pics of the card version for i4? Very keen on this. Would you say you can use it as a replacement wallet? Surely its not that useful? I would imagine it can only hold 1-2 cards max?

TIA

Sold! :D

I just ordered a Super-Slim (black) for my forthcoming iPhone 4. Thanks, Menzo, for starting this thread and all the pics.

Will report in when it arrives...

I have the ikonic and the sena and I prefer the ikonic. It is much nicer leather, and it covers the entire phone. The sena was a bit short, and it was showing wear at the bottom after only two months.

The only advantage the sena has over the ikonic is the ultra suede lining goes all the way to the bottom in the sena; in the ikonic is stops right above the volume holes, which leaves the very bottom of the ikonic a bit thin feeling.

Hi peeps. My ikonic (tan) just arrived and I really like it. Fits the phone nicely and gives a nice feel to the touch. Totally pleased with the product.

Thanks Menzo for the review, its your review that made me find out about this product.

I've had my Ikonic Edge Super-Slim (black; same as the OP) for almost a month now. The fit and stitching are precise and the quality of the leather is most satisfying to the touch.

My iPhone 4 nestles quite snugly inside, yet a simple pinch at the bottom of the pouch has it quickly ready for action. The microfiber inner lining serves to remove fingerprints (I'm using Power Support crystal front & back) when the phone is placed back in and removed again.

Overall, I'd say that the Super-Slim is well worth the price and I couldn't be happier with it! :)

Hey- thanks for the follow-up. I'm using the 3g version with my i4 w/ bumper. I love the fact that it also serves as my wallet. I've been considering ordering the new i4 version as the 3g version is about 3/8 of an inch to short.

Would you mind taking a quick measurement for me- I’m trying to figure out how much longer it would be. Can you lay it flat on a table (with the bottom budging out) and measure the total length. I’d very much appreciate it.

Thanks

can the op or anyone tell me if this case would retain the size even when i use it with a sgp full body protectors? front, back, sides (top & bottom), the side film is about 1mm thick. i wouldn't want it to stretch so much that, if i take off my films, it'll be too loose for a naked iphone 4.

I've got a film on mine, and I don't think it should stretch to much. Most of the stretching comes from the cards, I've got about 4 cards stuff in it's pocket and it gets a bit loose if not all the cards are in there. Not loose enough for my phone to fall out though.

I really love this case btw to all you people considering it. I've been using it for about 4 months now and the leather is just wonderful. I think the price is a bit stiff for the amount of leather used, but I don't regret my purchase at all. I don't carry a wallet or cash around anymore, so much lighter!

I agree this is a great looking case and I was strongly considering it but it's a bit too expensive. Therefore, I ended up buying a Sena pouch and it's been absolutely great so far.

Ikonic Edge Super Slim Leather Pouch Review

Guys,
Ordered the case on the 25th October and it arrived this morning 01st November to the UK, I have had various cases for the iPhone throughout the years and whilst this is a little pricey I feel it matches the class and style of the iPhone and worth every penny/dollar.

Nice tight snug fit, and people in the office and commented on how good it looks. So i am so far more than happy with it.

I've been thinking about picking up one of these cases. I currently have a Sena Ultraslim, but I'm not a fan of the way the volume buttons catch on the velvet lining and cause lint to become trapped around them.

What kind of lining does the Ikonic Edge have - suede, right? Does it cause any kind of buildup?

If you could post some photos of your case I'd appreciate it. Hard to decide which colour I want. Not sure if I want to play it safe with black, or try one of the brown colors.

The problem with these kind of cases is they muffled the sound so much.

I had a Sena leather pouch and I can hardly hear the sound unless I crank it up to max. It had three tiny holes for the speakers but apparently it's not enough.

This is true, and it's hard to feel the vibrations too. But all case designs have their pros and cons. Pouch designs can be slipped on and off easily, and they protect the phone from dust and scratches when it's in a pocket or bag. Until I find a type of case I like better, I'll stick with pouches and a louder ringer.

I will get some pics up of the case at at the weekend for you, I got the Dark Brown which is much darker than what it looks on the website and the pics on the website do not do the case justice as it is much nicer when in the hand.
Regarding not hearing the phone when it rings, the pouch has 12 small holes where the speakers are and whilst in my pocket I havent missed a call yet and still feel it vibrate.
I ahve already had various comnets on how well it is made and how well it loooks and adds that little more to the phone rather than the normal 1000's of cases/pouches that are out there.
