Does anyone have a link to a published iWeb site? I'd like to mess around with it and take a look at the HTML/CSS.

I was wondering if someone could explain to me the value of .Mac as a host versus going elsewhere. I really don't know how to publish to the web, but I have a domain (my brother-in-law is hosting me for the time being). I guess I am just wondering how much effort it would take for me to go with someone else and be able to effectively take advantage of iLife 06.

I guess I'm wondering if I should just pay the $70 and try it out for a year or if I should spend whatever another host would cost (how much is that by the way?) and figure it out on my own?

Yeah I think .Mac is really overpriced but w/ iWeb I don't think I can resist

You don't need .mac to use iWeb. iWeb can "publish" to a folder and then you can move the folder to any server you want.

For those people who don't understand the concept of "moving a folder onto a server" they have .mac Many ISPs give thier customers a certain amont of "free" space for web pages.

Most ISPs offer some amount of web publishing space. Even my ancient dial-up account I keep alive (to keep the e-mail address) offers something like 10 MB.

So it depends on what kind of sbcglobal service you have. SBC has been using Yahoo for a while now as a partner to offer the kinds of services .Mac offers (hosting, e-mail, Net storage, Photo sharing, ...) for their consumer accounts.

So, if you don't already have Yahoo attached to your SBC global account I'm sure it's easy enough to "upgrade". When I had SBC last it was pretty generous, Yahoo offered something like 250 MB of storage for photos, files, web pages...

Be aware though that you may forfeit your @sbcglobal.net accounts in the process and if you have an existing Yahoo account and merge it with your SBC account you can't keep your old Yahoo account if you leave SBC.
