iLife 08 Garage Band Changed And I'm Lost

Since I installed iLife 08 Garage Band has changed on me.

In iLife 06 Garage Band I was able to drag my tracks in and shorten or lengthen them. In the new version I can't shorten or lengthen the tracks anymore.

Any help?

you should still be able to drag then end's inward to shorten them or just split the track where you want & delete the unwanted area. Same with the timeline.
