I opened iWeb 3 just now, to find that Apple has removed the option to publish to a folder. Thanks Apple.

So luckily I have MobileMe account and can publish to there and copy the files from iDisk to other web host, but others may not be so lucky.

I MIGHT have just missed it but it is definitely not in any of the menus (definitely not where it used to be with iWeb 2.)

Guess who's going back to iLife '08 - or maybe even '07, back when Apple wasn't a control freak..

Keep in mind they now offer FTP support, so you can publish directly to other hosting. Of course, doesn't work in every possible situation, but should be fine.

I bet publishing to a folder is still possible though, you may just be missing it. I don't have iWeb '09 yet, so I can't check.

Still there

The option is still there.

Once done doing your website, click on the little red cloud symbol above your webpages. There you have the usual options to publish to:

1. Mobile me
2. with FTP Server
3. to a local folder

as well as a few other things.

It can be seen in the tutorial from Apple: http://www.apple.com/de/ilife/tutorials/#iweb-ftp

cheers

thanks, seems to work. seems like a stupid place to put it though. It was fine where it was in the file menu!

I am having so much trouble with iweb 09.... I publish to MM but the folders on the left side still stay red like they were not published..... I have talked to tech support many time with no luck...

I'm asking this here since there obviously are other iWeb users.

Is there a way to allow blog postings (from other people) on non-mobile me sites?

Meaning - can I make a blog in iWeb and allow commenting even if it is uploaded to my University web space?

What I noticed is that iWeb suddenly decided to update all of my web pages even if I did no change to them (the pages went red on the left column).

My concern is that I have RSS feeds on some pages, does this mean the RSS entries will be reset for the all the pages ?

I hope not...
:(

How to get publish to folder back

Hi, you can get it back if you click on the sites name on the left of the interface. Then, it will tell you that it is publishing to mobile me. To change this, click on the drop down menu and select folder :)
