The trial of iWork is the exact same as the retail version in terms of content.

The trial of iWork 09 needs a serial number if you want to keep using it after the 30 days.
The retail version of iWork 09 is just install... no serial anymore..!

One difference between the two in your headline is that there is no trial version of iLife, but what everybody else said about iWork is true- the trial is fully featured.
