I slept right through the quake..dammit. It would have been fun to experience. Quite a few people here, in Chicago, felt it.

I had an interesting dream last night, though...with odd timing. In the dream, I awoke in my bed and saw that the wall and windows of my bedroom had fallen down...looking out that hole, I noticed that the roof and second floor of my neighbor's house had caved in. During the dream, I was trying to figure out what happened since I couldn't understand how I could sleep through all that destruction.

Freaky.

Some time last year we had a 4-point-something quake. I slept through it, but dreamt of an earthquake. When I woke up, I saw on the news that we had a small quake and I had incorporated it into my dream.

also in marion

I'm also in Marion Indiana on the IWU campus and we felt it here. General consensus is most that students either thought the guy in their bunk was masturbating or it was the end of the world.
I was in the prayer chapel when it hit and it scared me pretty bad lol.

Richter scale says 5? That's about the same we had in the UK some months ago.

Ironic

I didn't feel the first one because I am forced to sleep with ear plugs because of the obnoxious boom boxes that drive thru at all hours of the night. I felt the aftershock. I lived in Cali for 32 years, so when the aftershock hit my cat and I just looked at each other and grinned.

Actually, I think it is kind of funny. People tend to only focus on the risks MSM makes them aware of. We use diet and exercise as a talisman to convince ourselves we will never die. Yet something sneaky like a dormant fault could wipe us out in a second!!!! It is why I personally take a little risk every day. I never want to be lulled into a false sense of security!

Nah, not in the middle of Iowa." Then this morning on my way to work they're talking about it on the radio. Guess the Midwest can still keep you guessing after all...

I was sleeping when it happened, but it's the first time I know of an earthquake being felt in Kansas City....

Read up about the New Madrid Seismic Zone. ;)
Woke us up here in St. Louis. Scared my wife. I was mildly concerned about my 1:18 die-cast race cars sitting on the fireplace mantel.

That's why my models are in a bookcase with doors, which is also anchored to the wall.
