Illustrator CS2 question

In Illustrator CS2, how come I can't see the highlight on selected type. Makes it hard to work but I can do the work, just slower. OS 10.4.4, G4/466.

Check your VIEW options.???

Not sure if you mean bounding box or you mean the thing when you get the opposite color when you select the text

It was command-H, man that was frustating to work without the text highlighted.
