Illustrator CS3 Gradient question

Is there any way to get rid of the diamond shape gradient slider above the color bar? I'm trying to get a gradient from orange to yellow but inbetween it goes to some lighter color brown? Its like its mixing white inbetween or something. Any thoughts?

The triangle slider on top simply controls the midpoint of the gradient. Are you sure you're only working with two swatches (the triangles on the bottom)? Some colors don't work well when blended, perhaps try a more vivid orange...

Cmyk & Rgb

look at the colours that you are using. are they both CMYK Colors or are they RGB or one of each.

If you use one of each they don't play well together
