Illustrator CS5.5 slow to save + open files

Mac OS X :: Version 10.6.7

Illustrator was super fast until the past week...now it's slow to open and save files regardless of size.

Installed new HP wireless printer last week. Not sure if that's the cause?

Any help appreciated - totally clueless.

Many Adobe products become slow because they try to access the printer when doing tasks, even tasks that have nothing to do with printers.

Make sure the default printer is available or set the default printer to be something static, like the PDF driver that Adobe includes.

See if that helps the problem.
