Illustrator outlines

Hi, a very simple question here..

How do you make the outline (stroke) just an outside outline,
rather than the inner and outer combined..
(hard to explain but someone will understand im sure) ?

Use Align stroke…

reason I couldnt do that was that my text wasnt expanded 😱
