Hey, I think there's something funny with the MacRumors kahuna system. ("Levels", or whatever you call it...)

I think for some levels, it's showing the numeric code, instead of the associated descriptive text.

Currently, I'm being shown as a "macrumors 6502".

Now, I have a special fondness for that processor. I have memories of meeting Chuck Peddle at the factory and going home with a glued-on-lid prototype for my first microprocessor project. (When The Steves was still thinking about the Apple I, I was putting the chip in a gas pump.)

But, really, this is 2010. 8-bit? Can I get an upgrade? Maybe 68000?

Edit: Oh, God, am I ever dense! It's intentional. Never mind. It's all processor chips from here...

We could go iPod -> iPod Touch -> iPhone -> iPad -> Mac Mini -> MacBook -> MacBook Pro -> iMac -> Mac Pro

New Apple advances like this: Mac Pro-> MacBook Pro->MacBook->iMac->iPod->iPod Touch->iPhone->iPad. Does this look like a company that cares about computers anymore?

Challenge accepted! :p Supposing that the i7 was 50,000 posts, then if I posted 13.7 times a day (so 14) then I would reach 50,000 in 10 years! In fact, I would have 51,000 posts!

But it's likely to be a lot more than 50,000 posts. We should have CoreDuo, Core2Duo, Core i3 and Core i5 before Core i7. And that's ignoring the Xeon variants used in the Mac Pros...

What about core solo? And perhaps even Pentium 4 (iirc) that was used in the transitional dev boxes?

The system could be adjusted to accept the more CPUs if the macrumors want to update it.

Makes sense as 10K would finally reach into the Intel area.
T2050 is Yonah, Intel's Core Solo 65nm 1.6GHz. Or should it use the desktop chip? Dunno, just think the current system is a bit too high of a curve.
