Hello, I'm really excited about the new iMacs, especially since my current iMac seems to by dying on me. I was a little confused on the RAM configurations for the base 21.5 inch model. Can this model hold up to 16GB of RAM, or is that only the 27 inch version?

Do these new iMacs take same DDR3 ram that the Unibody MacBooks take? I can put in the 2 1gig sticks that I took out when upgrading my MacBook to 4 gigs? So I can have 6 gigs in the iMac?

It's the same DDR3-1066 SO-DIMMs across the line now short of the Mac Pro.

It isn't the first time Apple has placed limits on memory addressing.

The 21.5" is more than likely officially limited to 8 GB until someone tries 16 GB in it.

Ok, as of now, to me 4gb of ram would be a fast upgrade to me so in a few years down the road, I hope someone will have tried 16gb.
