Awesome!
Since I'm too lazy to look at specs on Apple.com to tell if this is a Powermac or an iMac, which is it?

*edit* I write vague sentences. Boo!

Well my coworker has been working on me for a while, that and she may have been sabotaging my Dell laptop to help push me, but i guess i'll never know. I've been saving up for this for quite a while.

I did get a Dell 2005FPW flat-panel display to go with it. I'll try to take pictures of everything as i unpack it all!!!

I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions as I learn how to use this beast!

Nice setup. Other than a single gig of RAM and the default 160 gig drive, I got the same machine. Mine came in Wednesday. I am loving it. :D

Unfortunately, it is causing me loss of sleep, though.

Welcome you Bastard!

Now you get my curiousity piqued....What is it?

Very Sweet!

I am a recent switcher too and I thought I was lucky to start out with a powerbook. You will def enjoy the pleasure it is to interact with the OSX operating system. Not too mention it is so NICE to be virus and spireware free for the first time in my life :p

A very, very old Mac game. Oh my.

Maybe it's time to start a new thread..."What's the oldest computer game that you can remember on Mac or PC?" Just a thought. Oldest one I can think of is Gauntlet on my grandparent's computer when I was 8 or 9 years old.

A loss of sleep isn't a bad thing......But since I am a night owl anyways, I probably won't notice too much of a difference. Now to convince my work to let me work from home more often.

Good system to start with, wish I had a G5, told myself no G5 until I have finished uni!

You may be in luck, that seems to be the trend today. Will look forward to pictures.

Well, the iMac doesn't have dual processors nor does the iMac have anything "PowerMac" in its name. :)

Welcome to the light side of computing!

So can anyone tell me how long before my computer actually ships? It has been on sent to manufacturing for a few days now. I have received everything except for the Mac at this point.

Ohh it's the Third Apple rule:

Thou shalt ship when all the joy one posessed has dissipated, and upon arrival leaves one inexplicably overcome with a tragically heart-warming joy for their long lost baby.

Congrats on the Switch! You'l love it!

OMG OMG OMG OMG

Apple shipped my Power Mac yesterday and it is scheduled for delivery on Friday! *drool* I get a whole weekend with this thing, before I have to go back to work. :p

not trying to be nasty ...just a bit of a cynic ..but i wonder what is the motivation to create a post letting people know what you just bought (when it isn't even there yet!)... and what is the motivation to take pictures of it while you unpack it.. is not like a powermac is something that cannot be seen anywhere else... i think a good forum should have good questions and good answers that are useful, just bragging about equipment just creates low value forums for eg compare the high quality photo.net forum with the low quality dpreview.com forums (this is for photography)
