MagSafe is the future!

Now that I think about it, iPhone is not going to transition to USB-C like iPad did. Instead, MagSafe will eventually replace Lightning on iPhone altogether, and in the next 5-7 years, Apple will phase out all ports/plugs completely and transition the rest of its products entirely to MagSafe.

Just imagine your Mac charging via MagSafe: place it on a mat and boom, it's charging.

Or being able to transfer data via MagSafe.

The possibilities are endless.

iPhone + MagSafe
Watch + MagSafe
AirPods + MagSafe
iPad
Mac
HomePod
Apple TV
etc.

Just how big is the Magsafe mat for a 16” Macbook Pro? And the heat!! As good as Apple wants to sugarcoat Magsafe, it’s still inductive charging that’s going go generate more heat than copper wire.

That’s also the reason that all current iPads still not having it.

MagSafe is probably one of the main reasons I am upgrading from my 11 Pro too. Probably the best part of Apple’s announcements.

Same happens with the lightning port lol.
Ya, but they don’t call it lightning-safe.

One of the main features of MagSafe on a Mac was if you stepped on, or tripped over the cable it would easily disconnect and not pull your computer off a table/desk. Hence the safe part. This won’t happen with the iPhone.
