Apple's finest work was creating raving fans with the attitude you display. Chomping at the bit to throw money at Apple, they formed the cult like following that put Apple on the map. Now as most have grown up, matured and have more important values, the ranks have slipped away. Apple has taken on the demeanor of an aging corporation. Fat and happy they've reached their peak, and can afford to peak.
