If you've never heard of Pressdisplay, they are the Zinio of the newspaper world. They deliver newspapers formatted just like the print edition. I've tried their app on the iPhone and it's kinda cool but ultimately just too small of a screen to be of any use. But on the iPad, it will look really cool.

The cool thing about Pressdisplay vs say the New York Times app is that you can get local papers. They have like 1400 different titles. So you can read local news from all around the world exactly as it would be seen in the paper.

Here is the link to their blog article about the iPad app.

just looked at this app, looks great, I found my local paper on there which is really cool, this may not be what most of us would want to use the ipad for but I see a lot of the general public using it as a reader. I know I will be.

Cheers for that. Haven't seen that app before and it's actually pretty cool. Hope it works well on the iPad as I'm off on holiday as soon as I get mine so I'll be using that every day to read my favourite newspaper.

    Excited about PressDisplay on iPad

    Hi there.

Saw your discussion and thought I'd jump in. I'm glad you like our PressReader app for the iPhone and iPad.

If you don't already have an account and want to try it for free for a month, you can register at www.pressdisplay.com using the offer code: MacRumors.

Note, this offer expires at the end of April.

BTW...we're wrapping up development on an even better iPad application you'll want to try. Should be on iTunes soon.

    Cheers

I love the iPhone app, I use it every morning to read the local swedish news. Though the app is great, the small iPhone screen doesn't do it justice. I can't wait to get my hands on the iPad version. :)
