could OP please give details to us mac users so we know what you found so wrong that you want to revert to using a PC? ive been using macs for 4 years and i would never use a pc as a main comp. i dread using the school pcs. I suppose i see how mac os x might be a little different at first, but as many above have said, they stuck with it for a bit longer and are extremely happy. there is a 14 day return policy, so for your own sake, please do yourself a favor and stick with it a wee bit longer? you will thank yourself.🙂🙂🙂

Have to agree.............GIVE IT A FEW MORE DAYS!!! before returning it. An Imac is like a fine wine, you must aquire a taste for it. And in order to experience the Imac try it for a few more days and then if you aren't satisfied return it.

The iMac 27" is better than any Dell XPS system you'd get.

and price just £100 above the base Mac mini !!! add the dell 27 inch display (its the same display as in the iMac)and you are still below the i7 iMac in price and if you have to use mainly windows anyway , for business or gaming , the iMac is wasted money

Considering the OP's lack of replies to the offered help on here I'll lay money down he's a troll, especially given the nature of the post which almost tailored to give doubt to any prospective PC convert.
You just don't splash that kind of cash on a purchase and give up on it so quick unless you're extremely dumb, in which case he's probably better off with a PC anyways... 😉

I recieved my new 27" Imac 4 days ago, i have been using pc's for over 20 years. and you know what, now im thinking of selling my PC.

In these 4 days i have come to love my mac, if you miss any software or games from your pc, just install bootcamp/windows and plug in your favorite mouse and you got a cool gaming computer again. Boot back in OSX when you are finished plying games. and enjoy the beauty of a mac.

Why the buyers remorse, what are you missing from your pc?

Have to agree with the above, give it a chance, check the forums, you might find information that will resolve the issues that you are unhappy with. The majority of my friends are converts or planning on converting. Two friends not totally happy, one gave up and went back, other slowly getting more comfortable after making the effort to learn more about his mac. From reading the other posts, appears you have 14 days to decide, use most of that time, then decide and do what will make you happy.

My friend had the exact same experience as you, except he returned a Dell and got a 27" iMac 😛 Honestly though, macs aren't for everyone. I know a guy at uni that switched from pc to mac last year and now he wants to switch back [I think he was unlucky and got a dud and it's put him off macs]. However, the other 15 or so people I know who have switched from pc to mac have told me they are never buying a windows pc again. 😀

Assuming this isn't a troll, I suspect he (she?) may not feel he's getting $3000 worth of value out of it, factoring in the differences and learning curve and whatever else is going on.

We've had macs in our home since 2003, and I've used them sporadically since 1985. I lusted after the new 27". Played with it at the store a few days ago. Not getting it, at least not without an SSD. Basically their top of the line machine - quad core, fast as heck, etc - double click on an app, and half the time I *still* got the damn beach ball. IMO that was unacceptable, and I'm a fan, so I'll wait some more.

*I* would've had buyer's remorse after getting that too. If I want a machine that hangs now and then for no apparent reason, I can spend far less 🙂

Dude, a machine in a store has been fiddled with by every conceivable moron passing through. Especially Macs; because they look so yummy people just have to touch them and muck about until something gives.

I have a less than 50% success rate with any computer in any store. The only way to really know what's up, is to reboot the machine and zap the p-ram (option-command-p-r). I doubt the sales-assistants would let you, though.

When I first got my MBP I kinda regretted it, but now whenever I use Windows I scream with anger and frustration! Give it a bit of time, if it still isn't for you, send it back! It's a lot of money so you need to make sure it's right!

I wonder if he misses Windows and doesn't like MacOS. I wonder if he knows about bootcamp, vmware or parallels, which he can run windows along side MacOS. It does sound like it could be a troll, because he hasn't stated why he doesn't like the iMac. He could of said it is not upgradeable, doesn't like operating system. Maybe he missed the big computer case. We won't know. Unless he comes back and explained this thread should be finished with.

The fully loaded top end 27 easily costs $3000+ with Applecare and sales tax. I really want one but I could never imagine spending that kind of money of the computer. All my Macs are refurbs or used except the Air which I bought heavily discounted. I'd probably have buyers remorse too if I'd just spent that kind of money instead of the $1500 that makes the most sense and I've used Macs for years.

Gtsgts: please get back to us and let us know what you decided to do. Have you actually got it out of the box and given it a try? You might actually find you'll like it after all and, as has been pointed out, you can run Windows on it too if that is what you would prodded to use. You could slowly ease yourself into OSX over time by trying it out and, you never know, will end up giving up on Windows! Even if you have decided to send it back, I'm interested to find out. I love the iMac because of its small footprint. This is my second iMac, and I it replaced my late 2009 MBP. I use my phone for mobility and I use my iMac for TV, movies and Civ 5. I enjoy having the new video card because I can play Civ 5 at a reasonable framerate.

I've switch about 5 years ago and I'd never go back to a PC. don't know what you don't like, but my 27" IMac is a thing of beauty. If your experiencing frustration with a new operating system, give time. Anything new takes a bit of effort. Once your comfortable, you'll never go back. No viruses, registry problems, cheap, simple upgrades, and great customer support; it is why so many former pc'ers switch. I've have use PCs in my lab so I have to use both operating systems everyday. At home I wouldn't let a PC back in. Again, give it time, it's a fantasic computer.

I think you guys maybe being somewhat hard on this poster.

I have an iMac - 2009 C2D 21.5" model. After owning it for two years now given a choice I still prefer my Windows 7 PC. We have the iMac and the W7 Quadcore PC side by side in our home/office. The wife nearly always makes a grab for the iMac whilst I nearly always go for W7.

What don't I like? - well I don't like the glossy screen/mirror and I'm not overly enamoured with OS X. I can't deny the design of the iMac is a thing of beauty but if were talking beauty what attracts a person to one human being and not another?

As for all those who say they bought a Mac years ago and would never go back, well I think that is a closed mind attitude as well. Anyone who has used W7 could not say in all honesty that it is anything other than a very good OS.

Sometimes you just know, even straight away that something isn't for you, no shame in that. Two years on and I'm still waiting for that light bulb moment.

I'd feel the same regret if I didn't know what 10 to 20 freeware and shareware titles to download right away. There's not one Apple program I actually use (except iTunes because my iPod requires it).

I don't recommend average computer users switching to Macs on their own, or even with the help of a Mac fan who also needs frequent help. It's not that you need an expert to guide you, it's about your own natural bias against learning something new. But I don't blame you for that.

W7 has totally caught up to OS X. It's only the manufactures' bloatware that ruins PCs.
