I think I've already racked up what will be about $600 on my next bill. Can I hope for AT&T to waive the roaming fees or should I just kill myself now?

If you know that you're going to get charged for the data and you didn't want to pay, why did you use it? You're not going to get any sympathy from me unless you have been misled by ATT before this.

They rarely wave fees they charged in error let alone fees racked up by customers who have no consideration for what their plan really covers.

But they waived the fees of many people who thought that the international rates were absurd. Also, after using about 10mb in Canada, I realized that its actually $19.50 per mb, not $5 like I previously thought. If they don't waive it, I won't pay the bill, and they'll terminate my service. I cannot afford to pay a bill like that.

I don't understand.

It's obvious you are addicted to your iPhone with that kind of usage, yet you are willing to throw it completely away for something you knew would happen if you didn't have an international data plan? Usually when people know they can't afford to do something, they don't do it.

interesting

There is even less of an excuse now with the Data When Roaming option in the iPhone (which is turned Off by default).

That was because people thought that unlimited Data ment that anywhere and they also did not know that if EDGE is on it uses up data. they have since clairified that so they will most likely not waive the fees again.

The decisions you make that will ultimately affect your credit will cost you in the long run. I wish you luck in all your future financial decisions.
and irrational entitlement rears its ugly head yet again.

My thoughts exactly!

You're screwed!

Sorry, could not resist... But it's really your fault for not finding out all information about your plan! First you learn about the subject, then use it, right?

If you don't pay your bill, they will send it to collections. If that happens, say "Bye-bye credit!"

Okay first of all, is the rate $0.005 per kb or $0.0195 per kb?

Secondly, I don't want or need "credit." I use debit cards.

I just looked on apple.com at the service agreement for the iPhone, and it says that its $0.005 per kb when roaming with rogers wireless in Canada. This would mean that I'll only owe an extra $350 or so on top of the regular bill.

Hahahahahaha, you are a total moron!

But then you would have to be an idiot to believe that if something becomes a bit more expensive than you first expected then you are entitled to a refund!!!

10MB per day?

Sorry, DAY???

Wow. I have had mine for over two months and have clocked up...20.7MB sent, 85.0MB received. so, 105MB in 2 months = just under 2MB a day. That's with email always on, pulling from the .mac servers every 15 minutes and also my work email.

If I was roaming, I would not... ever... use my iPhone like that.

" My guess at his age: 17 "

Yes my thoughts entirely....

... you better tell mommy that you will be requiring your room for a lot longer than she anticipated, since you wont be buying a house in the future!!!

Credit is pretty important in this corrupt nation. As much as I wish it wasn't something to worry about, I don't think putting it in jeopardy due to an iPhone bill is a good justification. Especially if you knew you were roaming and using mb's on a non-data plan :/

I can afford the bill. You know what? Forget I ever asked for help. I can handle this on my own.

*sent from my iphone in the USA, :)*

Everyone needs credit. Do you ever plan on buying a house, or a car, or taking out a loan for anything, or etc.....

Whatever the bill is, paying that is going to cost you much less in the long run than the damage you do to your credit.

I never bought a car on credit ...
Even for my house I didn't need a loan.
The only loans I took were for my business.
