It’s not wasted on some of us - but the idea of killing the iPad mini which has had continued success for years and is relied upon by so many due to its specific size, form factor and capabilities simply to reinvent it and make it more like another product for a specific use case can seem ludicrous to some of us. It’s pointless to argue semantics; it is pretty clear that OP was trying to suggest the elimination of a particular device size in favor of another in order to make it more relevant to them as an individual - whether or not it’s more of a Touch or iPhone is irrelevant really IMO. But yes as you’ve pointed out, we’re all entitled to our opinions.

the interpretation that the poster to whom I replied was arguing they wouldn’t want to replace iPad minis with a (larger) iPod touch based on screen size rather than some other factor (cost, ) kind of fails as soon as you walk into an Apple store. iPod touches are also commonly used in warehouses and handheld POS devices... there was a lot of talk about this being the reason we got an updated iPod touch without an updated form factor this time around, as the old one wasn’t capable of running iOS 13.

It’s pretty clear that OP was making a number of suggestions, but the one in the post to which I replied was not actually one of them.
