Apple is more than overdue to update this display, and according to Apple, the thin iMac display has 70% less glare, has more brightness, etc., than the old display. Plus, presumably any new monitor will have USB 3 and a Thunderbolt 2 controller. USB 3 is huge if you use the monitor as a hub because it is so much faster than USB 2 for backup drives, etc. Ever since supply dropping was noted in June 2013 (and then reversed), I've been following the supply of Thunderbolt displays. For the past week or so, it has been dropping at several retailers. MacMall has been out for a while. Amazon ran out today. Amazon was selling through J&R Electronics, so they might be out now too. Others without naming them are out now as well. MacConnection and B&H Photo and Best Buy all have stock. I really hope we get an update. This update is long overdue. I don't want or need 4k, I just want an updated display.
