I'm stumped

I have two iphones: iphone 4g and iphone 4gs. I backed up my iphone 4g using iTunes. Everything was OK. I restored this backup to iphone 4gs. Everything was restored but not the contacts. Meanwhile I did something with the iphone 4g with iTunes and the contacts have vanished from the same also.

Please help ... I'm stumped here with both phones....

Perhaps try restoring to an earlier backup on either phone? You should also set up iCloud and turn on Contact syncing so your contacts are backed up in the cloud, then when you set up the iPhone 4S it will download the contacts automatically.

I don't have any other backup. Can we extract the backup and transfer back to the phone.

If we do a backup of a iphone using itunes, are the contacts included in the backup.
