You have to weigh out what your needs are and what you want your machine to do for you, ether just for surfing the interwebs or movies or gaming.

It really is all in what you really want and need.

I personally have no need for an iPad but I also do a lot of gaming so I bought a Qosmio 18.4 inch big'en.

I wasn't looking for just browsing and easy travel options, I wanted to be able to buy some slave kids to carry around my lappy and charger pack for me whilst Raiding in WoW or getting my headshots in CoDMW2 :D

well, there's a youtube app and dont most other websites accept quicktime? give me an example of a website that uses flash and doesnt have an app.

Laptop is a Personal Computer, it can do everything that a computer can do.

The iPad in comparison is a toy.

How important is size to you?

That's a 15" screen on the laptop, which is also more bulky. Granted, you have a full keyboard and some other things, inherent in a laptop, that the iPad doesn't. If portability and size is more important, go for the iPad.

Make a list of the top three things you'll be doing with it, and then pick. A lot of typing, get the laptop. The keyboard on the iPad isn't bad, really, but for a lot of typing the keys are really better.
