Hi everyone,
here my specs:

macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009)
3,33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
Maxtor Z1 SSD 960GB

My local supplier has tried to upgrade Ram to 16 GB but all memories haven't passed the test.
I have checked apple official site https://support.apple.com/kb/SP576?viewlocale=en_US&locale=it_IT and they confirm the support for my model iMac 10,1 up to 16 GB Ram.
Can you help me?

Best regards
Andrea Filippini

Hi everyone,

Serial number: 0x1BB603AF

BANK 1/DIMM0:

BANK 0/DIMM1:
Dimensions: 2 GB

Manufacturer: 0x014F
Product code: 0x54533235364D534B36345631552020202020
Serial number: 0x0008524B

BANK 1/DIMM1:
Dimensions: 2 GB
Type: DDR3
Speed: 1067 MHz

Product code: 0x54533235364D534B36345631552020202020

I have found that manufacturer 0x80AD is Hynix Semiconductor while manufacturer 0x014F is Transcend Information.
Can someone tell me where I can buy from these suppliers?

You don´t need to stick with those brands.. Just search on Amazon for mac memory of the same specs and check if your mac is on the compatible list. Please we aware that iMac memory is using laptop type memory (SODIMM, 204-Pin). Patriot used to do good mac memory in the past but now seems that Crucial, Corsair also do...

In any case, if you want to be 100% sure, try here: https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/iMac/DDR3_21.5_27

Thank u very much for your reply.
I have really appreciated.
I have found this item https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/8566DDR3S16S/ for my model iMac 10,1.
Have you ever tried OWC products?
Does OWC ship to Europe?

You can buy OWC products from amazon, at least from Amazon France.
I never bought RAM from them but some other stuff for ssd replacement.
I normally read good comments on forums about its products.

Hi everyone,
another update.
I have found an european webshop of OWC.
The item is the follow https://www.owcshop.eu/catalog/product_info.php/memory-2x4gb-sodimm-pc8500-1066mhz-p-770
Is the same OWC quality from macsales site? @robertosh

OWC RAM is simply relabelled RAM from other manufacturers. You may use any PC8500 RAM SO-DIMM from the OEM's Apple themselves used, such as Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron/Crucial, and save yourself a few bucks.

Best,
Magnus

Thank u for the reply.
I have seen some troubles around the web about ram installation.
Can you link me some good items?
Do I need to reset PRAM after the upgrade?

I have found these on crucial official website.
However they are very expensive...16 GB for 145 €
16 GB OWC Ram are about 95 €.
What do you think? @mbosse
Is crucial better than OWC?

WOW that Crucial is expensive - I would chose OWC instead (in this case only!). Quite honestly: I always buy RAM second hand here in the classified listing in Vienna.

This one here on eBay should fit nicely:

After the installation of the memory, I have reset the PRAM.
Job done.

Thanks @robertosh and @mbosse for your kind support!
