Hi all,

So when my motherboard is probably dead, I have opened the iMac (photos) and now I'd need your guidance what to do to get my CD-ROM disk out of the CD Driver.

Many thanks

(I have tried everything to boot up or to eject the CD-ROM via software, that did not work)

- Resetting NVRAM or SMC https://iosafe.com/helpdesk/kb/faq.php?id=14
- Unplug and replug the 2 RAMs
- Letting the fan working like crazy by pressing the power button together with plugging in the power cord.
- Connecting to another screen (using the mini-DVI-to-HDMI cable)
- Clicking the left mouse, or pressing the EJECT button in the keyboard.)

T10 torx driver to remove three or four screws if I recall. Two along the bottom and two along the top.
Disconnect the SuperDrive cable, remove the drive unit. Use a small Phillips screw driver to remove the drive cover screws. Pop out the disc and put it back to gather if you intend to keep the drive. I wouldn't suggest bothering with it though.. It's likely already broken. That machine is old enough to just recycle it.
