SMART test with Techtool Pro failed with the following:

reallocated sectors count
temperature changes
hardware ECC recovered
seek error rate
drive power cycle coun

OS 10.7 ... up to date

Can someone explain what the problem is and suggest a way to repair it?

SMART test failure can mean an impending hard drive failure. Have you been having any issues with the computer? Try running the disk repair utility and see if you have any file errors. Try getting the SMART status using the disk utility. Highlight the drive and click on the blue info button. If it says SMART status is "verified", you are OK. If it says "failing", you should back up your computer and consider replacing the hard drive.

She's gone. It was a back up machine though.

YES! the imac 2007 has so many problems, they have them at my school. SO MANY PROBLEMS

I have a new 27" ... was just using the 2007 model to upload weather data to weather underground.

not sure what to get to replace it though.
