    Hi,

I have iMac 2008 and installed Mavericks on it. Recently i have installed update through Mac Store and since then when i boot iMac up.. I have grey bar with Apple logo on boot screen. When the grey bar is done iMac shuts down and when i boot it up again, the grey bar starts again.. i have tried SMC and PRAM reset. Nothing worked.

    Do you have any solution?
    Thanks for the answer

Have you tried starting it in Safe Boot by holding shift during boot?

Are you able to start it up in verbose boot by holding command-V at boot?

Boot into recovery and use Disk Utility to repair the main partition.

Your hard drive's file system is coruppt. Your need to backup as many files as you can and then reinstall OS X.
