I noticed that the base on the new iMacs are skinnier than the previous models, has anyone mentioned this? I know the only other change physically is the extra USB port but I can't find anyone mentioning this change in any reviews.

The photos are meaningless. They don't say which model year it is, nor does it say what the difference between the two photos is, if any.

That's why you look at the photos and see that the new one has a tapered base and the old one doesn't.

Wow. Thanks for pointng that out! You must be a detective!

I LOOKED, and what I see is that they don't say which is which, and the photos are two different sizes. Accounting for the photo size differences, and assuming they're two different models ( a fact that one has to make up), they actually LOOK the SAME.

The New iMac Appears to have a Rubber Foot of some Kind (Not Sure if the Old iMac had this, its not visible in the Pictures, and i've never looked under the foot of one) aswell.

Why? A little "detective" work would show that the former is a picture of the 2009 iMac and the latter is a picture of the 2008 iMac. There are archived pictures on the Internet.

Darn you. I had this queued up and then I saw you post a comparison. 😀

Well, I got done with it, so I'll do it anyway.

Yeah, the older models have the rubber on the bottom as well.

It's funny what some people consider and some do not. I personally do not like the new stand on my imac. I liked the other thicker one better. I just feel it kept the whole units look more symmetrical.

With the new tapered stand I think it makes the display look that much more top heavy. Hardly a big gripe though I don't think of it any longer.
