Hi, i'm looking to how upgrade correctly my imac 2011 with high sierra to only windows 10 in legacy mode.
i read a lot of threads but not resolved my doubts.
-installing with rufus via usb returns EFI so speakers will not work
-boot camp supports only windows 8 (can i burn windows 8.1 dvd and then upgrade via windows to 10? or should i download win 8.0?)
-there is anyway to install win10 correctly via usb? cause my dvd player is not working correctly
i read about hybrid efi/mbr partition but anyway my dvd are only 4,7 so i can only burn, with a windows pc, lite versions of windows 10.
Let me know how i can i resolve because this problem is driving me crazy 😂

I had a lot of trouble installing MacOS on the mid 2010 model and out of sheer frustration I decided to just put Win10 on it then. I used a random Win10 installation USB drive that I had lying around, plugged it in and 20 mins later everything was up and running. Windows detected everything perfectly, except for display brightness changes (I installed bootcamp for that, still didn't work, did a manual driver update from the internet and voila).

I have the impression that this is preciously simple, maybe I got lucky? :)

in my imac internet recovery failed too many times before fully load mac os.
in win 10 I fixed brightness keys with 2 registry fixes in hklm/system/currentsettings/video/nvidea class/0000
