The Haswell one is newer, of course.

Generally, it's better to buy the newer one.

both have 16GB ram and 2012 vga nvidia gtx 675mx(1 gb) and 2013 nvidia gtx 775m(1 gb).

The GTX 775M in the 2013 ones is a 2GB card.

Yes, the 2012 has SATA while the 2013 has PCIe, which amounts to a noticeable difference in speed.

I think you can notice the speed difference in benchmarks, but not when using the iMac.
It's true the 2013 release is better and faster, but it's not huge difference.
Look at reviews ...
If it's at the same price, take the 2013 of course.
