Good Morning! Looking for some quick advice from the experts on here. Looking to upgrade to an iMac to be used for general websurfing, email, creating/editing 2-3 minute videos (not 4k). I don't need expert editing/speed advice, times, etc. These are just simple short YouTube videos.

My options are (keep in mind, I have a budget -- and they are very similar in price). What would be your choice?

  • Apple iMac 21" Retina 4K (Late 2015 Model)
  • 3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor
  • 8GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM (4GB x 2)
  • 1TB (5400 RPM) hard drive
  • Intel Iris Pro 6200 Integrated Graphics (1536 MB)
  • 21.5" Retina 4K (4096x 2304) LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS display

OR

Apple iMac 21" (2017)
2.3 GHz
8 GB Memory
1 TB hard drive
Graphic Processor Intel IRIS USA Pro Graphics

I wouldn’t buy either of those simply because I wouldn’t buy a computer without an SSD. I suppose this is personal preference, but I honestly would rather cheap out on every other component before skipping the SSD upgrade.
