Hey guys, I bought my iMac last month. I went with the high end one, with 500 SSD. Two days ago, I noticed some dead pixels and I took it to the store. They will replace it free of charge under the one year warranty. But after looking at the Work Authorization it says under part number 661-07323, and online that part shows as the 2015 display. Anyone knows if its the same one?

it's possible it's the same. i believe the display improvement in the 2017 vs 2015 is related to the type of backlight used. so if the display is separate from the backlight, it's indeed possible the LCD portion with dead pixels is the same PN.

I thought the backlight and the display were build together as one unit.

I just talked to Apple Care and the say that part 661-07323 belongs to 2017 5K iMac.

Probably the part of the 2017 superseded the 2015 and both use the same part number now. I don't believe there is any discernible difference between them.

How many dead pictures did you have?
