iMac 21.5 inches--2.5 ghz v. 2.7 ghz

Is it worth the extra $300 to go with the 2.7 ghz iMac with the faster graphics? I'm essentially only using this for word processing and downloading/streaming stuff off the internet.

Yes, agreed. For your tasks, stick with the 2.5.

Even last year's basic model iMac with i3 should be sufficient for that. You know, if you want to save some money, you can always get 2010 iMac with heavy discount.

But if money is no object here .. go for i5, just sayin' it won't make any difference for your usual needs

Absolutely unneeded. Needed to buy a new/additional imac and wanted the 27" screen for same purposes. Mac business unit at local apple store actually talked me out of high end model.
