Hey Mac community
I have an old imac that I no longer use and want to give to a friend who does not have a computer. They need to get network access though, and the ethernet port on the imac (with os 8.5) no longer works. It is just dead. Does anyone have any help on why it may not work. I formated and reinstalled the OS, and it still does not work. What I would like is if anyone knows of a USB to ethernet adapter that would work on 8.5. I find a ton with windows support, but none with even osx support. I would really like to get this working, because this can put use to a good computer that would otherwise go to the graveyard.
Thanks very much

I've got a Sonnet Harmoni upgrade card for that iMac that has new ports on it. Also firewire. Happy to sell it to you, though I cannot guarantee it will work as it has sat around for a long time.
