I just upgraded my iMac from 2Gb to 4GB and all I can say is wow!!!! It makes a huge difference. For $53 shipped from newegg.com http://eshop.macsales.com/item/TechWorks/A2N8002G4GP/ and I think they have some even cheaper ones now. It came in one week, and the install took under 5 minutes.

Any technical description of the improvement, or what you're doing to notice it? I was considering getting 4GB if I bought a 24" iMac.

sorry no technical data, but everything seems noticeably faster. My Vista running in Fusion has no lag whatsoever, and everything seems to open in a flash of a second, one bounce at most <edited thanks!>.

Do you mean one bounce at 'most'? Is that even with iTunes? Does Photoshop load faster?

frys.com often has them between $20-$30 after rebate. Crucial brand, too.

i noticed that the biggest performance increase came from VMware because i can allocate more ram.
