Hi everyone!

I own a 24" iMac since the 31st of October and it was only now that I came across this issue. The thing is, when I plug in my External HD or a USB Pen Drive and start copying a folder (let's say, my "work" folder, 2,5 GB) it starts normally but halts after a minute or so, and stays there, I can't even eject the damn thing (from the desktop), I am forced to turn in off in the encasing.

My question is simple, has anyone had this problem yet?
- Could this be resolved in a firmware update or let's say with 10.4.9?
- Should I prepare for the worst and assume that's hardware failure?
- What kind of measures can I take to figure out what's wrong?

Any suggestion? Because If I have to take this baby to the store I'm screwed, I gotta work to eat 🙂

Thx in advance.

What you could try doing with your computer is resetting the PRAM by starting up your computer and immediately hold down command+option+P+R till you hear the startup chime 2 times and see if that helps
