So the new 24" is a single 1GB So-Dimm I hear. That is pretty damn cool!

So would it be okay to pair that memory with say a 1GB Crucial Stick?

it's absolutely fine, just as long as it is 5300(maybee 6400 works) 667mhz, 200 pin non-ecc then it should work just lovely. Although you might be able to save a bundle by just buying from someone who is updating to 4gb of RAM and has a spare 1gb apple stick left:)

isn't it the same RAM that is used for the MBP? I'm selling mine to get an iMac and if so I'm keeping the extra gig i put in there.

All of the intel Corexxxx Macs use the same type of RAM - DDR2-667 SODIMMs.
