I'm using a 2.4 Ghz 24" iMac. I have an 80GB iPod Classic that I use as a hard drive as well. When I plug it into the leftmost USB port (when looking at the back) I have been getting extremely slow transfer speeds. When I open iTunes, it says "The iPod "James's iPod" is connected to a low-speed USB 1.1 port. For better performance, you should connect it to a high-speed USB 2.0 port, if one is available on your computer." What's the deal? It doesn't always do this, but it does most of the time. They are all supposed to be 2.0, right?

I have my iPod in the same port. I'd check your cable or port for bent pins or try another iPod cable.
