Just partitioned 150gb for bootcamp on my 1TB HDD. I installed XP Media Center OEM without a problem at all. I then put the snow leopard disk in and it autoexec'd and then looked like it was installing stuff. Then it went to screensaver and would not respond to keyboard or mouse input.

    any ideas?

    update...still need some advice please

I re-installed last night and while the snow leopard disk was running (loading drivers?)...I could use keyboard and plug in usb peripherals (xp giving the "dung dung" sound) and quickly put in my wifi password...again xp confirming the connection as active. Also, the little blue tooth symbol popped up. Still, eventually, when it got around to apple keyboard and mouse drivers, the keyboard and mouse stopped responding! Of course without keyboard input I could only turn the thing off via power button on the back of monitor. Any ideas? is there a way to install all drivers except those 2? The keyboard was working initially...

I think the issue is that you're using XP Media Center edition. Boot Camp only works with XP Home, Professional, 32-bit.

I was aware of that but I couldn't find an XP disk anywhere. So I took a chance...

Anyways, I think it is running fine now...I sure would like to know how to establish the degree of compatibility.

my solution was....I hooked up a wired usb keyboard and mouse, and that worked. I went in and "added a bluetooth device" and my apple keyboard and mouse were recognized...so that worked. I am pretty impressed at how fast this old iMac runs XP. After BT keyboard/mouse, I got automatic windows updates, registered, and ran the CD "updates to Windows XP ME version 2005" that came with the other 2 XP ME CD's. So far, everything is working fine. I transferred and opened a file from windows partition to mac desktop. I could not move a file into Windows desktop folder.

I loaded antivirus software and Safari so far. Not much else. The main reason I needed XP was to access my job remotely (I work for the federal government so that was a challenge, but it worked fine)

    any advice?
