I was thinking about getting the studio display but disappointed with the lack of HDR. The display was meant to be paired with my MBP 14 and MBP 13 for work but I’m wondering if I should save cash and buy an iMac 24 and just airplay my MBP 13 when I’m working. I don’t mind the slightly smaller screen size

If you are happy with a 24" screen and the performance of the M1, having two machines has many advantages. However, you will have a desktop slower than your MBP14 laptop and you will not be able to use the screen for anything other than that M1 Mac.

If I was already using two different MBPs I would probably just buy the monitor for the additional flexibility.

It’s more for work that I was thinking about this solution. I wouldn’t be able to use the iMac for work as my company uses MDM
