If you have tested Target Display with a Display Port compatible PC Graphics card, connected to the Mid 2010 iMac 27" please can you report here?

    NVIDIA

    GTX 680 - Untested
    GTX 580 - Untested
GTX 570 | EVGA with DP to MinDP adapter

    AMD

    AMD 7970 - Untested
AMD 6870 | SAPPHIRE HD GB GDDR5 PCIE with Eyefinity
AMD 6850 | SAPPHIRE with Mini DP
    AMD 6770 | Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
    AMD 6970 - Untested
    ATI 5970 | brand unknown

    Onboard GPU

    ASUS P8Z77 - Working, see post #3

If you have 100% proof of working cards, please supply:

    GPU Model| Manufacturer

I have found many people are after this information, but no good source of info is available. Many mid 2010 owners are looking to use the imac as a screen for a gaming PC, but there are several horror stories of cards not working as expected..:apple:

I will not provide feedback on graphic card for the moment (i will buy an ASUS GeForce GTX670 DCII TOP when it will be available in France)

Nevertheless, i already use the displayport of my motherboard (ASUS P8Z77 - V) with my iMac 27" Mid 2010.

I use this cable : StarTech.com Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable - Adaptateur DisplayPort - 2 m

Is this still working well for you? Very interested in buying similar card for connecting to 2010 iMac 27 via MDP

    Hi,

yes it works fine. I use it every day with my mid2010 iMac connected to my Asus GTX670 DCII via StarTech.com Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable - Adaptateur DisplayPort - 2 m.

You just have to use Cmd+F2 to activate the iMac as external screen
