hi guys,
Suddendly my imac won't turn on. when i press the power button, it does nothing, no fans start working, no boot sound, no screen, it won't turn on.
I already tried everything, Reset imac, pull the power cord off for 30 seconds - 1 minute, check power button, change the power supply.
it remains the same, nothing happens.
I already change the GPU about a year ago, to an Nvidia, i saw the guide here in the forum :)
It was working so good till now. I don't know what else to check, can you guys please give a help?
I disassembled the front of Imac to check the diagnosis led, no led is on. When i plug the power cord, one led blinks once and it remains off.
Any thoughts guys?
Thanks in advance.

Probably either (or both) the power supply or the logic board has given up the ghost.

I highly doubt getting a new logic board will be cheap, and replacing the power supply in these can be extremely dangerous (to the point of killing you) as IIRC they have exposed capacitors.

I managed to find a replacement logic board on eBay and it didn't cost the earth and replacing the internal PSU need not be dangerous providing that basic safety procedures are followed - which would include letting the computer sit for probably a week so that the PSU's components have completely discharged.

Personally, I'd look for another model going cheap - or maybe a later one and transfer the drive/data to that and continue where I left off. :)

The symptom of your iMac is similar (exactly) like mine, which turns out to be a dead PSU.
