what is the cheapest adapter to connect an external monitor at iMac 27 2017?
looking at Apple website i can't find any DVI o HDMI USB C adapter, only the expense and combined one

can i use third party adapters?

It also depends on what you're connecting it to.. what connections does the monitor have that gives you the best quality resolution?

I did not even think about a cable :) didn't not that was possible

the monitor has: VGA, DVI, Display port... not sure why i wrote HDMI

Then a simple USB-C to DisplayPort cable will do. The catch is that numerous out there are reported to not work with 2017 Macs. I myself think they are cheap enough to just buy and try 2 or 3 different brands, but if on a budget concern you may want to wait for 1st hand iMac owner reviews.

i found some on amazon that has a review from macbook pro 2016 with USB C, do you mean that some cable that works on macbook pro may not work on imac 2017?

It changed in the 2017. No guarantees it will work on the 2017 if it works on 2016.

However the DisplayPort cable I linked is confirmed to work on the 2017 iMac. Plugable has a 2017 iMac in house for testing.

since in my country ( italy ) amazon doesn't sell the pluggable cable i bought this

"USB C auf DisplayPort Kabel (6ft / 1,8m), CHOETECH (4K @ 60Hz) USB 3.1" ASIN code B06ZZG3S4L

and it works, just connected
