iMac 27” 2017 ssd/cpu upgrade

Does anybody know what this cable is meant to attach to on the logic board?

That looks like part of the microphone cable and connector that is integrated into the iSight camera cable.

If that is it it plugs into the microphone on the case (located on the back of the iMac). Here is a pic of mine and you can just barely see it.

Ah yes it does look like it, but mine is coming from the other end of the iMac...

May I ask what CPU and SSD you put in just as a side note as I am thinking of doing a similar upgrade my my iMac and also whether you would recommend it or not

The SSD is a Crucial MX500 2TB and the CPU is an i7 7700K. Hard to say whether I’d recommend it tho, as I can’t start it up again just yet

I would thought if you are opening it up and doing all that work that you would add the NVMe SSD blade not just a standard ssd...may I ask why you chose to go this route? Or was this in addition to a NVMe SSD? I want to add the 1tb NVMe and a 1/2tb ssd
