Could someone kindly with either the above models pls run BM disk speed test and let me know the figures reported.

I'm considering either but if the 512 is considerably faster I'll pay that much more and get more storage.

    Thank You.

There may be a difference in SSD speeds that can be "measured" using disk speed test apps.

But... in real life... you'll never notice them.

The 512gb is worth having for the extra space. The "extra speed" is inconsequential.

It's all about what you want... what you can afford... and if you feel like spending the money.

I believe the 512gb size (at least from Apple) is "the best buy" right now.

I noticed it pretty easily whilst scrolling though a large iTunes library stored locally

256GB on an iMac is a waste of money, no matter if you find it incrementally faster.

Go 512 - I already started to regret I didn’t go 1 TB - space fills up fast if you have photos and videos and I’m not the biggest fan of working off external drives.

I believe 256GB SSD cards are inherently slower in Apple's world.

    You think wrong ZipZap.

As the fisho says you will not be able to determine any difference in speed.

I am correct. Perception notwithstanding. It's a foolish move to buy only 256GB for this device.
