Hello.

What scaling MacOS use for second scaled resolution 2048x1152 ?
I don't have iMac. But If you set that resolution and make a screenshot you can look at resolution in get info of file.
Does it render 2x to 4096x2304 and than scale x 1,25 to 5K ?
Why would be a performance hit ? Because x 1,25 scaling ? Do you notice any performance hit ?
I tried a 1440p resolution on my 4K 27" Philips monitor but is way too small. I use 1080p (in Retina mode).

Screenshot resolution is the same, no matter the display resolution.
See screenshots below, first is at 2048x1152, second is at 2560x1440. They are the same.
At 2048x1152, it displays 1,25 times bigger on the screen.
I find the default resolution (2560x1440) to be perfect, no need to scale.
Not sure if this helps.

Yes and no :) Take screenshot of whole screen (cmd+shift+3) and check resolution in "Get info" of screenshot.
Resolution of screenshot for 2560x1440 will be 5120 x 2880.
But I want to know if you set 2048x1152.

When display resolution is set at 2560x1440, the screenshot of the whole screen is 5120x2880.
When display resolution is set at 2048x1152, the screenshot of the whole screen is 4096x2304.
The files are too big to post here

Yes, no need to post certain screenshots, only want to know "rendered" size of resolution. Thanks.
So in "lower 2048x1152" resolution MacOS have to do higher 2.5x multiplying.
